The College has so far organized and hosted two highly successful capacity building webinars
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a worldwide dramatic loss of human life and unprecedented challenges to health, the world of work, and nearly all means of livelihood. The world has suffered immense frustration, devastation and grave hopelessness. The invention of Covid-19 vaccines and the general adherence to set World Health Organization guidelines have brought great relief. It has been a trying period but as we say, “Every cloud has a silver lining.” It is during this dark period that the world has taken a big stride to embrace technology. Consumers have moved dramatically towards online channels and businesses have consequently followed suit.
Kenya Utalii College (KUC), the leading capacity building institution in hospitality and tourism has embraced digital learning and is slowly breaking away from full dependence on traditional face-to-face meetings. Digitization of the learning process involves having virtual meetings with professionals, online exams, networking events and professional seminars and workshops. KUC has embraced the use of webinars to hold live meetings, conferences, presentations and training via the Internet. In this mode of capacity building, participants share files including slides and videos, and this increases engagement. The term “Webinar” is derived from combining the words web and seminar. Webinars are a type of web conference. They allow a registration process and are usually restricted as one-way communication, with their main focus being to educate.
Without a doubt, education is the platform that makes it possible to defeat all progress barriers and it is, as such, a powerful tool in life. It allows us to find the meaning behind what we do and massively improves lives. The College has so far organized and hosted two highly successful educational webinars and is now set to have monthly mentorship webinars on hospitality and tourism. As the Kaizen philosophy emphasizes, ‘good is never good enough and there is always room for improvement’. Improvement on the other hand is only possible with continuous learning. These webinars will enhance the participants’ personal growth, and boost business performance and consequently the national economy. Areas of focus will include but are not limited to: productivity, personal branding, career tools for job seekers, aspirations, key success principles in the internet age, cultural sensitivity, entrepreneurial opportunities, goal setting, time management, and financial management in the era of virtual money and loans.
To perfect the learning process and guarantee relevance on the subject matter based on emerging and current trends, the College plans to continuously engage experts and gurus within the respective fields of discussion.
KUC shall be making regular monthly communications regarding each month’s webinar on our website, blog and social media platforms.
Don’t miss out on this unique and free opportunity to learn from leading professionals in hospitality!
